Meet the Owner

As the Owner and Director of Music Moves Me NM, Ryan Santella, alongside his family and dedicated staff, is committed to fostering a safe, encouraging, and positive learning environment for dancers and their families. Their mission is to cultivate not only skilled dancers but also positive and productive members of the community through the transformative power of dance.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii, Ryan's passion for music and dance was instilled from a young age. His early experiences included dancing and performing at home, family gatherings, school events, and breakdancing battles. Influenced by iconic figures such as Michael Jackson, Ozone and Turbo from Breakin', the Rock Steady Crew from Beat Street, and MC Hammer, he developed his foundational skills through emulation and consistent practice, rather than formal training. Over time, this foundation evolved into a deep appreciation for a diverse array of dance styles.

In 2002, Ryan embarked on a distinguished career with the U.S. Air Force, subsequently marrying his high school sweetheart, Tricia Dayle, and relocating from Hawaii. The couple welcomed their daughter, Phoenix Ryan, in 2006, followed by their sons, Ryler Isaiah in 2009, and Rysen Knight in 2011.

Ryan officially embraced the role of a "dance dad" in 2012. Since then, he and his wife have consistently championed their daughter's dance journey. In 2024, their sons also joined the studio, further deepening the family's involvement. The process of watching their children develop into positive and productive community members and growing dancers has become a source of immense pride for Ryan and Tricia.

After retiring from the U.S. Air Force in 2021, Ryan continues to contribute to the government sector. Fueled by unwavering faith and the steadfast support of family and friends, he and his wife established Music Moves Me NM in August 2024. Through this venture, they continue to share their profound love for dance 

and community.
